How the framework developed
| Event | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| May 29, 2025: DNU 366 published | Investment naturalization added to the legislative text | Final qualifying amounts or an application workflow |
| July 31, 2025: Decree 524 published | APCI review and Migration decision framework | A complete end-to-end processing estimate |
| March 6, 2026: Law 27,802 published | Specific income-tax residence treatment in Article 194 | A general tax exemption |
| October 2, 2026: government announcement | Financial routes and Q4 intake target | A precise opening date or final bond term sheet |
The published framework also raises legal-review questions. Naturalization litigation identified in the research includes the Yang case. Applicants need current Argentine counsel to assess the decisions and their effect on this route; the announcement alone does not resolve those questions. Ongoing court developments are tracked on the Argentina CBI program status page.
Example: hearing "the program has launched"
Hypothetical scenario: an investor reads a headline and assumes she can submit a complete application that afternoon. She has the announced contribution amount available but cannot verify the official application channel or payment instructions.
Her next step is to confirm those operational details. A press announcement, a private inquiry form and a government application are different stages. Having the money available does not establish that a submission can currently be made.
What to check next
Review the Argentina CBI requirements, then the Argentina citizenship by investment application process. Ask for the current official instructions, fees, bond documentation and an explanation of any outstanding legal issue. If a professional says every term is settled, request the exact document supporting that statement.
