Argentina citizenship by investment for business owners

Argentina citizenship by investment for business owners begins with a capital question: how much money can the applicant personally and lawfully commit? A company valuation, business turnover and an individual's available cash are different figures.

The October announcement names a Treasury contribution and a program bond. It does not name buying an Argentine business, funding a startup or purchasing property as a qualifying citizenship route.

Example: a US$3 million company sale

Hypothetical scenario: a founder hears that a business sale for US$3 million makes the contribution affordable. The transaction includes deferred payments, a holdback and tax liabilities. The founder also shares ownership with another shareholder.

The sale headline is not the founder's spendable cash. Before assessing a citizenship commitment, the founder needs the amount actually received, their ownership share, remaining liabilities and evidence linking any distribution to personal funds.

This scenario does not prescribe tax treatment. It shows why gross exit value is an inadequate budget.

Example: profitable company, limited personal liquidity

Another hypothetical owner has valuable shares in a growing company but little money outside the business. Paying from the company account may involve corporate authority, tax, banking and program questions. The final Argentina procedures must establish whether that structure is acceptable.

The owner should not assume that a high valuation satisfies a funding requirement or that corporate money can be treated as personal savings.
